Trans Siberian RAILWAY TRAVEL / Mongolian Railway Travel,
TRANS MONGOLIAN RAILWAY, TRANS Siberian RAILWAY HOLIDAYS
Rail travel is one of the most exciting ways to travel
and so what better way to travel through Siberia and discover its diverse
landscapes than on the Trans Siberian railway.
The Trans-Siberian is the
ultimate railway trip, evoking a timeless
sentiment of mystery and excitement spanning two continents, several time
zones and some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world. The atmosphere
created by the passengers from all corners of the globe adds to the truly
unique experience. At
IntouristUK.com,
we offer a range of options to suit all tastes - from basic tailor-made
itineraries to full luxury rail packages, on a variety of Trans Siberian
routes.
Stretching for 6,560 miles, the
Trans Siberian railway was
built between 1890 and 1905 to connect Moscow with the coastal city
of Vladivostok. There are many wondrous destinations and true gems
to explore along the way including Ekaterinburg in the Ural Mountains, Irkutsk, the
capital of eastern Siberia, and the natural treasure and largest freshwater
lake in the world - Lake Baikal.
Embark on this journey and you can even choose to take a ferry from
the port at Vladivostok to Japan!
You may choose to travel on board the luxury Golden Eagle -
an exclusive way to truly take in the vastness and grandeur of the
world’s largest country. The Golden Eagle entered service in 2007
and the 12 sleeping cars on the train are separated into three
classes: Gold, Silver and the New Heritage Class. In the restaurant,
the chefs use the finest of local ingredients. From traditional and
world renowned ‘Borsch,’ to caviar and Omul fish unique to Lake
Baikal. Quality wines from around the world compliment the meals,
along with mineral water, soft drinks and naturally, vodka. After a
long day sightseeing, unwind in the newly designed and stylishly
built Bar Car.
Alternative luxury routes are also available on board the
Golden Eagle such as the Arctic Circle Tour, 9 Day Baikal Express
Tour, Naadam Festival Tour, Crimean Express Tour and Silk Road Tour.
As another
popular option, our Classic Trans Mongolian tour allows you to enjoy
the enchantment of Russia before discovering the wonders of
Mongolia. If that’s not enough, you can then travel on to China and
visit its mesmerising capital of Beijing!
Choose to travel on board the Intourist Express, which
comprises of just fifteen carriages. Guest accommodation makes up
nine of the carriages, two are for the restaurant, one for the bar
and three for staff quarters and equipment. In total the train can
carry a maximum of just 150 clients. The two restaurant carriages
serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily and are designed in true
Russian style. The bar carriage is divided into two areas. The first
area consists of comfortable chairs which are perfect for relaxing
and socialising with fellow passengers, the second area consists of
a restaurant hall and can be used both for eating and perhaps even
dancing in the evening.
Alternatively, travelling through
Russia, the Trans
Manchurian railway transports you to the vast lands of China where
you can visit Harbin. Known as the Oriental St Petersburg, it is
thought to be one of China’s most beautiful cities.
End
your journey in Beijing where you can choose to take an excursion to the
Great Wall – one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Additional excursions are available in a
variety of destinations, as are cabin upgrades, should you wish to
enhance your Trans-Siberian adventure.
