Built in memory of Tsar Alexander II this historical monument is built on the site of the events of 01 March 1881 where the Tsar was assassinated.  It is one of the main Orthodox churches in St. Petersburg and contains over 7500 square meters of mosaics, said to be more than any other church in the world.
